PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to submit your passport to the Consulate. You will NOT have access to your passport until the visa process is finished by the Consulate. Please plan accordingly. The Consulate will not release your passport until the visa process is finished.

ATTENTION: Foreign Consulates do not accept demands from travelers. They do not work around a traveler’s time-frame, and may request additional documents not listed in the general instructions at any given time and circumstance without notice.

STEP 1

STEP 2

Come to our office so we can review, sort, prepare your documents and take your photo.

COME IN TO OUR OFFICE

If you already have your own passport-type photos, bring them with you. Otherwise we will take your photos.

STEP 3

Your visa application will be submitted to the foreign Consulate the next business day.

SUBMIT APPLICATION

Should any additional requirements or demands from the Consulate arise, we will communicate it to you immediately after we leave the Consulate lobby.

STEP 4

We will collect your passport and visa from the Consulate on the day scheduled by the Consulate.

RECEIVE DOCUMENTS

Your visa & any other original documents will be at our office available for  pick up on the same day they are released by the Consulate or shipped if requested.

  • Your passport MUST be valid for AT LEAST 6 MONTHS, counting from the day you leave Indonesia
  • Your passport MUST contain at least ONE blank, completely clear “VISAS” page (Amendments and Endorsement pages do not count)
  • Your passport MUST be signed and in good condition. The Consulate staff may reject your passport if they find it to be in damaged condition, even if you don’t think that’s the case

A copy of the traveler’s driver’s license, or utility bill, containing name and address within the Indonesian Consulate – Los Angeles’ area of jurisdiction:

  • Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and the southern counties in California south of Bakersfield: Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura.
  • Copy of round trip tickets or itinerary print-outs, with airlines name, flight numbers and dates.  The receipt of purchase of a flight ticket alone will not be sufficient
  • If you have trouble printing your form or itinerary, you are welcome to email it to us as an attachment and we will be glad to print it for you at our office

Parent or guardians MUST:

  • Sign the printed-out application page in the appropriate signature box
  • For adopted children: present original copy of adoption papers/court order
  • Present an original birth certificate
  • If you are a Indonesian citizen and reside in the USA, you MUST travel to Indonesia on your VALID Indonesian passport (in this case, no visa is needed). If you need to obtain a new Indonesian passport, please contact us
  • US citizens who were born in Indonesia MUST submit their previous US passports with visas to Indonesia (even if expired), or
  • Indonesians who obtained US citizenship and formally renounced their Indonesian citizenship MUST submit an original document/certificate as proof of Indonesian citizenship renunciation. Applicants who have not renounced their previous Indonesian citizenship are not eligible for a visa and must travel to Indonesia using BOTH their US and Indonesian valid passports

Additional requirements for those who are traveling for business purposes:

Employer Business Letter:

A business letter from the US employer. The letter must be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Indonesia, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above) and stamped with the company seal. The business letter must include the following information:

  • Personal information of the applicant: name and job title
  • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.), the dates of the visit, and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Indonesia
  • Specify the type of activities in Indonesia (ie. meetings, contract discussions, trade-shows, etc.)
  • State who will bear the costs of the applicant’s accommodations in Indonesia

HOW IT WORKS: The process starts with a local sponsoring production company based in Indonesia submitting a filming and production permit request to the appropriate government bodies in Jakarta. Once the government agencies in Indonesia approve the request and issue the permit, they will send an authorization telex to the Indonesian consulate, allowing the issuance of an entry visa on behalf of each individual traveler. A copy of the filming permit will also be sent to the traveler and must be presented at the consulate along with the basic requirements.

  • Once the process has been approved and finished in Indonesia, the consulate must receive:
  1. A telex communication from the immigration authorities in Indonesia authorizing the visa to be issued
  2. The copy of the filming permit sent to each individual traveler by the immigration authorities in Indonesia. Each traveler must submit this filming permit along with the other visa requirements

According to the Indonesian Constitution, children of Indonesian citizens (either mother, or father, or both parents) born in the US are also considered Indonesians and should be registered at the Indonesian Consulate in order to receive their Indonesian passport.   • Your passport MUST be signed and in good condition. The Consulate staff may reject your passport if they find it to be in damaged condition, even if you don’t think that’s the case

  • HOW TO FILL OUT YOUR VISA APPLICATION FORM:
    • Be very thorough and careful when filling out your questions on the form
    • Enter ALL dates in the SPECIFIED FORMAT. For example: DD/mm/YYYY
    • PLEASE ENTER ALL YOUR NAMES EXACTLY AS THEY ACTUALLY APPEAR IN YOUR PASSPORT. Do NOT omit, abbreviate or add extra names or nicknames. Do NOT include titles and/or extra letters not contained in your passport. All added data that is not IDENTICAL to your legal documents will cause your process to be rejected
    • Please SIGN the form to match the passport signature. All applicants over the age of 18 MUST sign their own application form
  • Professional passport-type photographs: 2
    • Recent photo taken within the previous 6 months
    • Mouth-closed, neutral expression
  • Your original permanent resident card (green card), I-94, I-20, or advance parole originals

A copy of the traveler’s driver’s license, or utility bill, containing name and address within the Indonesian Consulate – Los Angeles’ area of jurisdiction:

  • Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and the southern counties in California south of Bakersfield: Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura
  • Copy of round trip tickets or itinerary print-outs, with airlines name, flight numbers and dates.  The receipt of purchase of a flight ticket alone will not be sufficient
  • If you have trouble printing your form or itinerary, you are welcome to email it to us as an attachment and we will be glad to print it for you at our office

HOW IT WORKS: The process starts with a local sponsoring production company based in Indonesia submitting a filming and production permit request to the appropriate government bodies in Jakarta. Once the government agencies in Indonesia approve the request and issue the permit, they will send an authorization telex to the Indonesian consulate, allowing the issuance of an entry visa on behalf of each individual traveler. A copy of the filming permit will also be sent to the traveler and must be presented at the consulate along with the basic requirements.

  • Once the process has been approved and finished in Indonesia, the consulate must receive:
  1. A telex communication from the immigration authorities in Indonesia authorizing the visa to be issued
  2. The copy of the filming permit sent to each individual traveler by the immigration authorities in Indonesia. Each traveler must submit this filming permit along with the other visa requirements
  • If you are a Indonesian citizen and reside in the USA, you MUST travel to Indonesia on your VALID Indonesian passport (in this case, no visa is needed). If you need to obtain a new Indonesian passport, please contact us
  • US citizens who were born in Indonesia MUST submit their previous US passports with visas to Indonesia (even if expired), or
  • Indonesians who obtained US citizenship and formally renounced their Indonesian citizenship MUST submit an original document/certificate as proof of Indonesian citizenship renunciation. Applicants who have not renounced their previous Indonesian citizenship are not eligible for a visa and must travel to Indonesia using BOTH their US and Indonesian valid passports.

  • Processing times are based on the Indonesian Consulate business days: Monday through Thursday only. Saturday, Sunday, Indonesian and US Holidays do NOT count as business days
  • The Indonesian Consulate in Los Angeles may change their processing times without notice. Please make sure that your departure dates do not conflict with the Consulate visa release date
